Dynamics 365 Field Service suits organizations on Microsoft 365 and Dynamics that want agreements, crews, skills and a schedule board inside the Microsoft stack. It’s $105 per user a month paid yearly, and automatic multi-technician optimization (Resource Scheduling Optimization) is a $30 per resource add-on.
Crewtide suits smaller teams that want route optimization, windows and crews included, office users free, and no Power Platform configuration: $49 per technician a month billed annually.

Where Dynamics 365 Field Service is stronger
- Microsoft integration. Outlook, Teams, Microsoft 365 and the Dynamics suite.
- Agreements. Recurring work orders with booking recurrences, flexibility windows, preferred resources and invoice generation.
- Explicit optimization rules. RSO constraints for working hours, skills, roles, windows and territories, and objectives such as minimizing travel.
- Crews and skills with proficiency levels.
Where Crewtide fits better
- Optimization isn’t an add-on. Building the week uses route optimization on every Crewtide plan.
- Bookings that respect the day. Microsoft’s docs say Auto Generate Booking places agreement visits “without considering any other factors, including if the resource is active or their working hours.” Crewtide places visits with shifts, time off and windows in view, and flags anything it can’t place.
- No Power Platform setup. Customer notices, portals and SMS in Dynamics are Power Automate flows you configure. In Crewtide the To notify list is built in, and sending comes with Pro.
- Cost. About $490 a month for ten technicians instead of about $1,560.
